Patricia Piccinini, one of Australia's most acclaimed contemporary artists, welcomes you to a world both strange and beautiful as she explores the unending connectivity of her relative creatures.
Patricia Piccinini has received worldwide attention for her startling sculptures, digital environments and images that compel us to consider an ecology and biology that blend species in the frontier world of experimental technological and biological environments. Piccinini's works take us to a post-Darwinian destination populated with fantastical creatures, new communities and bio-ethical conundrums.

During National Science Week the Art Gallery of Western Australia is giving members of the public the chance to learn about the fascinating art of facial reconstruction. Participants will be guided through the main stages undertaken in this process, under the guidance of Dr Susan Hayes from the University of Western Australia.

Every year a new flock of Central's Visual Arts and Jewellery students stage an auction of donated artworks to raise money for their Graduation Show. The good artists of the West generously provide mini masterpieces for lucky Perth people to acquire at remarkable prices. ANCIENT ROME COMES TO PERTH
n 250 exquisite objects including marble sculpture, gold jewellery and delicate frescoes evoke the richness and culture of life at the height of the Roman Empire. A Day in Pompeii tells the story of everyday life in the once-bustling city – from food and dining to shopping, medicine and religion.
A spectacular immersive 3D theatre will allow visitors to experience the dramatic eruption of Vesuvius that wiped out this amazing city.

THE MIGHTY AMBASSADORS recalled in an exhibition of 200 photographs, posters, programmes and recordings telling the story of this elaborate, theatrical former Perth icon.

Bevan Honey will develop an ambitious new body of work for PICA's Westend gallery consisting of futile machines alongside architectural and drawn elements that explore the opposing impulses of excess and restraint. Modernist utopias, failed buildings projects, financial burn outs and economic crashes and recovery are interrogated using scaled up drawings, models, stencils, mark making and inventions. Honey's expanded drawing practice contemplates multiple histories - art histories, as well as the cultural and geo-political histories of the state.

St George's Art has become a premier annual event in art education in Western Australia, exhibiting works by students in Years 10-12 from schools across the state.
