Winter Supper Club
Think winter means the end of street food? Think again. On the last Friday of each winter month (29 June, 27 July and 31 Aug), Perth Town Hall will be host to the Winter Supper Club, a colourful European-style food market and also the perfect start to an evening spent enjoying the Winter Arts season.
Squeezed under the gothic arches of the Town Hall will be a mix of vendors jostling for you and your appetite’s attention. From Spain comes paella and pintxos from Subiaco favourite La Latina, the folks at Bocelli’s will be barbecuing German bratwurst, and Moroccan Journey will be serving up shuk shuka, an Arabic comfort food made with eggs, garlic and tomatoes.
For dessert, there’s The Hungry Crepe whose fare caused kilometre-long queues during summer’s Twilight Hawkers Markets. And for the donut lovers, Braza Churros will be serving the Spanish favourite with a decidedly Brazilian spin.
While you chow down, some of the Winter Arts Season’s best acts will be performing. Harry Mitchell, from The Harrison Mitchell Trio, has been playing since the age of 13 in China and around Perth will be performing some jazz numbers and the UWA Guitar Ensemble will also be performing works from their upcoming Portraits in Guitar event.
Pretty sure there’s no better way to spend a wintery Friday night.
